The Parents’ Club serves an important role in the success of our daughters’ sorority experience.
Per the GPBPC bi-laws of 2003--
“The purpose of the Gamma Phi Beta Parents Club is to collectively support our daughters and their sorority sisters”
Our goal – to help them have the BEST sorority experience on campus through
collective (CONNECTION) + support (SERVICE)
A letter from the Parents’ Club President:
This is a year to reignite the Parents Club involvement.
I am excited to assume the role of President of the Gamma Phi Beta Parents Club with support of Vice President, Patty Nersesian, Secretary/Treasurer: Dayna Jones, Communications Chair: Marilyn O’Connor, and… those of you who have signed up and/or want to be more involved.
Together we want to see the Parents Club become what is was initially chartered to do in 2003, but lost momentum as the roles and needs changed for the sorority. For those of you that were able to attend the Mother Daughter weekend in February and/or the Daddy/Daughter day in April…You know that our focus is CONNECTION + SERVICE.
CONNECTION =
1. TEAM Together Everyone Accomplish More
a. Working together with the sorority for their needs.
b. Combining our strengths & resources
2. Connects us to our daughters
a. “What in the world is going on?”- Actively helping parents know events, activities, and ways they can help.
b. Helps us understand their “world”.
SERVICE =
1. Organization of Activities and Events
a. Team leader(s) for overall activities: i.e. Officers & Support Chairs
b. Team leader, plus support, for a specific activity; i.e. Fall Recruitment, Chili Cook-Off, Tailgates, etc.
2. Unique opportunities to support the needs of the Chapter, i.e
a. Career advisement and support for Seniors
b. Access to wholesale items of services to benefit the Chapters needs
c. Fund Raising
d. Etc…
We are trying to work together and closely with the girls (CONNECTION) to keep you updated with information and events that will include parent involvement (SUPPORT). Please be patient as we get our data base up and going and start this process.
In the mean time, please let us know how we can help you…and/or how you want to help your daughter.
Sincerely,
Jolene Bailey
