Welcome to Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Georgia!
My name is Allyson Argo, and I am the current President! I am so happy you are visiting our website and want to know more about us! My favorite thing about Gamma Phi Beta is the genuineness of our sisterhood. Each sister is encouraged to be herself, live her values, and pursue her passions. We work to celebrate one another and make sure every sister matters.
If you ask one of my sisters what it means to be a Gamma Phi, she might say:
Friendship. We believe in meaningful, lifelong friendships. Each year we plan a variety of sisterhood events to help members grow closer. Recently, we kayaked the Broad River, jumped on trampolines at Sky Zone, and had a Popcorn & PJ movie night in our chapter room.
Family. We want our families to feel connected to Gamma Phi Beta too. Through events like a Parent’s Weekend Tailgate, Mommy-Daughter brunch at our house, or a Daddy-Daughter basketball game, our families have a chance to meet the rest of our wonderful sisters.
Service. We are passionate about giving back. Every fall we raise money for Girls on the Run and Campfire USA by hosting a Chili Cook Off on our lawn. We have a service committee of sisters who volunteer in Athens together. We are also working to become mentors for a local Girls on the Run program.
Involvement. Our sisters have a prominent presence on campus. They play intramural sports, lead small groups, participate in leadership programs, or serve on executive boards for major campus organizations. Many sisters are in the Honors College, and we recently had a member crowned Homecoming Queen!
Fun. Making memories is what it’s all about! We love to tailgate before football games and cheer on the Dawgs together! We dress up for social events with themes like “The 80s” or “Barbie Dolls & Duck Calls.” We also love to dance the night away on our formal at the Fox Theatre or other date nights like Tacky Christmas, Rodeo, and Steeple Chase.
My sisters amaze me every day! I encourage you to look through our website and see what life is like as a Gamma Phi Beta! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Go Dawgs!
